KIN means gold and GIN means silver in Japanese, and IRODORI means color combination. This Yunomi is made of ceramic, but the technique used to create the dull hue of the metal makes it look like a metallic cup. Not only is it very rare, it is also very reasonably priced.

The potter's clay with high iron content is used and fired once. A black glaze is applied to the surface to beautifully enhance the iron coloration and finish the tint of the clay. Then, a mixture of pigments with copper and silver coloration is sponged over the surface and fired again to create a unique texture with a metallic shine.

When held, the cup is just the right size and fits snugly in the hand, and its rough texture is also pleasant to the touch.
