Sophisticated Shigaraki-Yaki
Made by Hirokazu Furutani at Furutani Pottery
The flavor of green tea depends not only on the quality of tea and brewing process. It depends on the size, shape, and thickness of the vessel that it is brewed or served in. Tea served in a ceramic mug will taste different than tea served in a porcelain Yunomi.
SESERAGI means the sound of flowing water, such as shallow water, and KAZE means wind in Japanese. As the name suggests, the refreshing pale blue color of the cup brings to the eye the flow of cool river water and the wind blowing there.
SESERAGI no KAZE has a modern feel with its simple shape, and the pale blue color gives a gentle and soft impression. The color is a transparent and beautiful celadon glaze, and the lower part is unglazed. The contrast between glazed and unglazed is simple and sophisticated, and its coloring gives it a very gentle atmosphere.
The form is simple and easy for anyone to hold and clean. It can be used in various scenes of daily life.
