Genmaicha: 100g/3.53oz
Usually Genmaicha is made from a mix of puffed rice and low grade Sencha, low grade Nibancha (tea from the second harvest of the year) or Sanbancha (tea from the third harvest of the year). However, we at Hibiki-an make our Genmaicha exclusively from Ichibancha (tea from the first harvest of the year) and premium roasted and puffed Japanese brown rice.
Genmaicha Matcha-iri: 100g/3.53oz
This special tea is a lovely blend of Genmaicha and Matcha, and therefore is very balanced and even more mellow than usual Genmaicha. When brewed as tea, it is light green like Gyokuro. The Matcha brings out the balanced taste and aroma. Of course, this item, too is made from only Ichibancha (tea from the first harvest of the year) and premium roasted and puffed Japanese brown rice.
Houjicha: 100g/3.53oz
Generally Houjicha is made with various tea leaves, Ichibancha (first harvested), pruned tea leaves, second and third harvested tea and so on. But, like all of our teas, our Houjicha is made from only Ichibancha (first harvested). It is said that Houjicha grown specifically in Ujitawara, where Hibiki-an is located, has a particularly delightful aroma, even when compared with other Houjicha grown in the Kyoto region of Japan.
Houjicha Karigane: 100g/3.53oz
In contrast to the refreshing and roasted flavor of regular Houjicha, our Houjicha Karigane has a deeply sweet and roasted flavor, which is quite unique among any kinds of Japanese tea. The sweet flavor is brought by Teanin which is a constituent contained in Karigane and known for having a sweet and flavorful taste and working to relax the brain and body.
