This snack looks rather like sand-colored pebbles with its uneven shape and surface texture. Texture wise it has a soft crunch to the bite, with a hollowness in the middle that helps giving that lightness in texture. Taste wise it is mildly sweet, with a gentle true kinako flavor. On my palate it tastes similar to a sweetened toasted popcorn, especially with that similar texture. This rice cracker is addictive. I think this snack can pair well with hojicha and/or genmaicha. Basically, teas that give off a roasted flavor. |
