I can't get enough of this one! It has it's own distinctive character: more gentle than sencha, sweeter, softer but with a real purity of flavour, & that hibiki-an freshness we all know and love. So don't see it as a cheap sencha substitute, or lump it in with run of the mill kukicha; instead, compare it to teas like Yin Zhen (silver needle): different tastes, I know, but both essentially mild, gently sweet, subtly complex, elegant styles - perfect contemplation teas for the evening. Given the price of decent Yin Zhen, hibiki-an's Sencha Karigane is a steal. One thing I am wondering about is the recommended brewing temperature? It seems quite forgiving to me, but I'd like to know what hibiki-an advise. (Comment from Hibiki-an) We thank you very much for your posting review. And we are so happy that you are content with our Secnha Karigane. I just want to inform you of brewing Secnha Karigane. We recommend you brew Sencha Karigane as same way with Sencha. --- For 2 cups Tealeaves: 1 1/2 Tablespoon (7-8g) Water temperature: 176F (80C) Amount of water: 200cc Waiting time: 1-1.5 min. Indeed it has not been written on any our pages. We are so sorry for inconvenience. We have immediately added it on Sencha Karigane’s page. We thank you again and hope that you will continue to enjoy genuine Japanese tea. |
