Yes, this tea deserves another review for 2011! When we think of best we generally associate highly refined but in Japan I think it is just a category. Unrefined could be regarded as best and the proof is in the brew. I let my tea cool in the bowl and I was amazed at not only the refreshing flavor but the smoothness of the liqueur and the silk like sensation in my mouth. This was not just tea and this was not just water! The cleansing effect was addicting and the flavor fresh and subtle and worth passing through another review. My eyes followed the cracked ice down to the bottom of my Hyo Retsu to a dark green spot of flock or particulates that migrated through the finest of stainless steel filtering. Was this the makers mark? The farmers signature to remind us all of the roots and purity of tea less refined? THIS IS IT! |
