Each specially-designed biodegradable teabag, which does not affect the flavor or aroma, is filled with whole-leaf Genmaicha Matcha-iri, so you can enjoy the elegant flavor of Genmaicha Matcha-iri in no time at all! The individual teabags are much larger than standard paper teabags - over 2 x 2 inches in a unique pyramid shape.
The teabags are made from plant-based polylactic acid (PLA).

Our Genmaicha Matcha-iri is a wonderful blend of Sencha, puffed brown rice, and Matcha. The Matcha powder lightly coats the Sencha leaves and rice, adding a fresh and mellow taste. Due to the rice, this tea has the rich and hearty flavor of roasted grains or coffee but the freshness of Matcha and Sencha. It is very well balanced, full flavored and smooth.

In many cases, Genmaicha is made from a mix of puffed rice and low grade Sencha, low grade Nibancha (tea from the second harvest of the year) or Sanbancha (tea from the third harvest of the year). Our Genmaicha Matcha-iri is made from only Ichibancha (tea from the first harvest of the year) and is available at a reasonable price. So we are certain that its taste and aroma is much more flavorful and smooth than any other Genmaicha.

We have designed our teabag teas to brew quickly and easily in the shortest possible time, while still retaining the fullest flavor and aroma, even when brewed in a teacup and not a teapot.
Of course, this item as well as our other teas may be reused three times. Each infusion has a unique flavor and aroma.

1.What material are the teabags made from?
- The teabags are made from plant-based polylactic acid (PLA), which is very stable at both hot and cold temperatures, and does not react with or affect the flavor of the tea at all.
- The teabag is biodegradable and compostable. The natural polylactic acid (PLA) is derived from corn.
- The sachet is specially designed so that our Teabag tea tastes the same as your favorite loose leaf tea.
- Our teabag is of generous size, so that the tea leaves can fully expand in water when brewed. This extra space is one of the reasons why our teabags make such a flavorful tea.

2.What kind of tea leaves do you use in the Teabags?
- Only the highest quality tea leaves are used in our Teabag items.
- In order to brew a more flavorful tea, the leaves for all our Teabag teas are specially finished. Tea leaves for Teabag Genmaicha Matcha-iri has extra added matcha in order to be extracted more flavorfully and easily with a brighter water color.
