HANA UNKIN means flowers or cherry blossoms and cloudy brocade. The UNKIN cloudy brocade expresses the beautiful scenery of SAKURA cherry blossoms in spring, and red and gold MOMIJI Japanese maple leaves in autumn. It has been said that SAKURA cherry blossoms look like UN clouds and MOMIJI maple leaves look like KIN gradation. UNKIN is one of the most traditional motifs, which also can be used throughout the year.

The cherry blossom petals are painted in two ways and carefully colored in white, pink, aqua, blue, purple, brown, and gold. The clouds of cherry blossoms are also painted in white with faint red gradation. It creates a refined atmosphere.

The maple leaves are painted in red and yellow. The gentle breeze is expressed in gold color, which looks generous and elegant. The green color evokes feelings of cheerfulness in spring, and calmness in autumn.

The horizontal lines express running water or haze. It requires high-level techniques and efforts. The cherry blossom petals are also on the horizontal lines. The contrast and the harmony of the straight line of the haze and curve of the breeze is unique and creates a certain rhythm and modern atmosphere on the UNKIN traditional motif.

The technique called GOHONDE, colorful lines of orange, is seen on the inside and outside of this bowl. It is impossible to fully control the contrasting density of GOHONDE, so that GOHONDE is a little different in each work. The colorful rings of GOHONDE add balance and warmth to the atmosphere, and emphasize the beauty of this refined white Matcha bowl.

The artist Kohgiku Yamaoka expertly harmonizes gentleness, elegance, and a sense of movement, while also creating a perfect balance of traditional and modern styles, to create this lovely Matcha bowl. His high-level techniques and efforts enable this balance.

This Matcha bowl expresses Japanese scenery in spring very well. The taste of Matcha surrounded by the fresh colors of spring and gentle atmosphere in autumn will be the ultimate refinement. Please enjoy your green moment with the elegance of spring in Japan.
