(Farmers Shincha) Delicate, selected tea leaves appear to be astonishingly immune to higher temperature and longer steeping. Quick flushes appropriate for Gyokuro preserve the beautiful color and lightness but fail to unveil the complexity of taste and aroma, which I find a great revelation to my experience. With Superb quality yet reasonably affordable it has become our everyday tea in no time. Do not confuse with "common". "Farmers" does not mean "peasants". A noble beverage, easy to enjoy. A pleasure that ended way too soon!!! For each steeping I used about 2tbsp of tea and a pot that holds 2 cups of spring water. DAY 1: 1st flush: 65deg Celsius: steeping 60s 2nd flush : 65deg Celsius: steeping 45s 3rd flush : 65deg Celsius: steeping 75s 4th flush : 70deg Celsius: steeping 60s Impatiently anticipated unspeakable joy of freshness evoking tears of pleasure and hope, reminiscence of happiness, unexpected saturation of flavor and depth. A truly Green Moment! DAY 2: <rinsed the tea with warm water ( 50deg Celsius)> 1st flush : 60deg Celsius: steeping 20s 2nd flush : 60deg Celsius: steeping 25s 3rd flush : 65deg Celsius: steeping 50s 4th flush : 75deg Celsius: steeping 90s Lack of sweetness, correct but too delicate, dully shallow but perfectly green, astringent aftertaste. DAY 3: 1st flush : 65deg Celsius: steeping 65s 2nd flush : 60deg Celsius: steeping 60s 3rd flush : 70deg Celsius: steeping 75s Fine taste, beautiful color, fresh aroma, a little bit missing the original sensation. |
