I love Hibiki-An organic matcha- and enjoyed creating this recipe for The Clever Kitchen using it. This is a refreshing summer smoothie for breakfast. Strawberry, Basil and Green Tea iced Latte 3/4 cup cooled green tea (brew for 10 minutes then set aside to cool) 3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk 1 frozen banana (freeze the day before – without the skin!) 1 cup fresh strawberries (stalks removed) 1 cup ice 1/2 vanilla bean powder or essence 3 basil leaves 1 tsp raw honey Method: Blend all the ingredients in a high speed blender and serve immediately Serves 2 Nutritional Benefits; Green tea: a potent antioxidant that helps prevent skin damage, wrinkling and other signs of aging. Almond milk: contains vitamin E, necessary for tissue repair and protecting our cells from damage. Banana: rich in potassium, vital for proper muscle tone and nerve function. Strawberries: high in flavonoids that protect us from oxidative stress and help prevent cancer. Vanilla: high in antioxidants, vanilla also helps alleviate anxiety and stimulates the libido! Basil: contains exceptionally high levels of antioxidants that quench any type of inflammation in the body. Raw honey: strengthens the immune system and has anti-bacterial properties that promote healthy skin. See www.theclever.kitchen for more recipes. |
